Trafigura is a one-stop shop for the long-term supply of ferrous
raw materials to the steel industry, with a particular focus on
iron ore (lumps, fines, BF/DRI pellets, HBI), coking coal, PCI
coal, metallurgical coke and ferro-alloys.
Trafigura purchases and supplies ferrous raw materials on a
principal-to-principal basis and provides logistics, storage,
crushing and blending solutions to its customers. Trafigura’s
presence in China has expanded significantly and we successfully
obtained a trading licence enabling the group to source and trade
domestic ferrous raw materials, as well as to store imported
ferrous raw materials in China.
In response to increasing spot trading activities and the need
to manage price risks and exposures, Trafigura is actively involved
in swaps and hedging on the back of its significant physical
ferrous business.
Significant synergies are also captured through Trafigura’s
activities in steel-making commodities such as scrap, pig iron and
steel billets.
