Non-ferrous
Trafigura trades the full non-ferrous product chain from raw
materials which are concentrates and alumina, intermediate products
such as semi processed metals (for example blister copper), through
to refined metals for ultimate use in industrial applications.
In 2010, Trafigura will trade approximately ten million metric
tons of non-ferrous metals and concentrates; the world’s second
largest volume for an independent trading company.
Group activity is managed on a global basis through its main
offices in Lima, London, Lucerne, Shanghai and Stamford.
We have recently expanded our non-ferrous trading activities to
include bulk commodities such as coal, as well as minor metals such
as cobalt and molybdenum. For these new commodities we are able to
leverage off the existing Trafigura global infrastructure as well
as a similar customer base, particularly on the purchase side due
to the multi-commodity nature of most major mining companies.
