
Claire Divver joined Trafigura in 2020 as Global Head of Corporate Affairs. Claire is responsible for the Group's external and internal communications, marketing and public affairs, and for the Group’s ESG strategy and leads the team responsible for Trafigura’s health, safety, environment and community policies and approach. Claire reports to Executive Chairman and CEO Jeremy Weir.
Claire has 20 years’ experience of providing strategic counsel to boards, executive leaders and leading global teams to manage, enhance and implement, stakeholder engagement and the implementation of effective strategic communications campaigns. Prior to joining Trafigura, for the past 11 years, Claire has had global responsibility for corporate affairs and communications at international FTSE30 companies in the highly regulated mining and aerospace and defence sectors, as Group Corporate Affairs/Communications Director and Executive Committee member at Xstrata plc and BAE Systems plc. As a trusted advisor to the management, Claire was responsible for external and internal communications, brand, digital and marketing communications, public affairs, financial and sustainability reporting, community investment and stakeholder engagement.
Claire started her career in investment banking at Merrill Lynch, before moving into financial and strategic communications consultancy. She graduated with a First Class BA Joint Honours degree in modern languages from the University of Birmingham.
