Our responsible sourcing programme
Established over a decade ago, our Responsible Sourcing Programme for Minerals, Metals and Bulk commodities applies to all sourcing and trading activities across the Group, with enhanced focus on Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (CAHRAs). The programme seeks to achieve four objectives.
Establish traceability of material to the mine of origin
Identify and assess ESG risks across our global supply chain
Mitigate identified ESG risks through collaborative engagement and capacity building
Promote transparency by reporting ESG performance to key stakeholders
Trafigura's responsible sourcing programme is multi-layered
Through a multi-layered diligence process, we evaluate supplier ESG performance and determine capacity-building needs. We seek to promote improvements in supply chain performance through proactive capability building and direct supplier engagement.
Using international standards to align our approach
Our programme is underpinned by internationally recognised frameworks and has been independently validated as being aligned to the OECD Due Diligence Guidance.
